"Hunter" Ed./6 back
 Bronze 800 x 520mm

The hunter portrays civilisation in the sense that neither man nor creature is spared from the inherent greed of man. Ruthlessly, both his fellow man and the cheetah representing the environment, are hunted and destroyed. The series had an inauspicious start. "The Hunter" for instance, stemmed from a desire to play around with, and use, the streamlined shapes of the cheetah. I had recently been commissioned to do a lifesize study of a cheetah with her cubs, and in the preliminary research which entailed studying and sketching cheetahs. I became fascinated by their movements, family life and feline grace.
