Culprit

“Culprit” describes Maureen Quin’s continued sadness and outrage at man’s inhumanity towards his descendants and animals. This bronze sculpture accuses man of greed, depravity and lack of honour towards future generations, symbolized by the inconsolable baby in his arms. The man’s upturned face, pleading for absolution, with the incriminating decaying scull of the dead rhinoceros on his head, symbolic of his unchanged culpability.
